Aesthetic Neuromodulator (BOTOX) Injections

Your face keeps a record of the moments of your life. Your mood, your health, how well you sleep, how you are feeling… Your face expresses how you experience the life you live.  It serves to deliver your message to those around you and governs whether you’re approachable, what you offer others, and how much influence you have. Ultimately, most of what you are putting out into the world is right there radiating outward from your face!

Time is inevitable, and as we add more candles to our birthday cake, the muscles that create facial expressions cause wrinkles to form and deepen.  These lines and wrinkles can change the way we look and how others preserve how we feel.  As we age, our brows and lids droop and crow’s feet form, making us look older and more tired than we feel.

We offer neuromodulator injections to help reflect your true inner beauty in your face, and help you feel as young and as vibrant as you aim to feel on the inside.

By injecting small quantities of neuromodulators into specific overactive muscles, we can get localized muscle relaxation that smooths the overlying skin and reduces wrinkles.  The use of this toxin is proven very safe and has been used for over 30 years in aesthetic medicine.

Whether you are looking to start or continue treatment, we will respectfully address your concerns in line with your aesthetic vision and goals.

FAQ’S

What is a neuromodulator?

The neuromodulator used is Health Canada approved Botulinum A toxin, a purified protein produced by the Clostridium botulinum bacterium.  Botulinum A toxin acts on the neuromuscular junction to cause temporary muscle relaxation and thus creates a desired cosmetic smoothing of the skin.

Will I see results right away?

It usually takes about 3-4 days before you would start to notice effect of the neuromodulators taking hold.  It often takes a full 2 weeks to take full effect.  This is why we book the following touch-up appointment 2 weeks after treatment.

How long do neuromodulator injections last for?

We recommend that re-treatment of the area with a neuromodulator is recommended when the effect thas reduced by about 80-100% which happens usually every 3-4 months.

Will neuromodulator injections change or freeze my face?

We want you to look natural!  The use of neuromodulators should not change your face.  Aside from your mother, no one should be able to tell you had a treatment with neuromodulators. The goal of treatment is to inject just enough to weaken and relax the targeted muscles without affecting other muscles. This allows patients to maintain their natural facial expressions.  Having an experienced and properly trained injector with an artful eye is the best way to achieve your cosmetic goal.

Do neuromodulators hurt?

No.  Although the actual injection can cause momentary discomfort or a slight “sting”, most patients are pleasantly surprised at how easy the procedure was.  We also have techniques that help to lessen any discomfort you might experience during your appointment.
