I was born and raised in East Vancouver, BC, Canada. Healing became a prominent theme of life for me at a young age. For this reason it seemed that entering into a healing field as an adult was a natural fit for me. As a young adult who benefited so much from Acupuncture I wanted to be able to give the gift of good health and healing to others. I completed the 3 year Registered Acupuncturist program at the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine and became licensed with the CTCMA on April 1st of 2018.
Just prior to my licensing as an Acupuncturist I expanded my studies in April 2017. I completed a 2 week internship in Taiwan, at the Taipei Tzu Chi Buddhist Hospital. Here I expanded my studies by attending lectures on (YNSA) scalp Acupuncture with Dr. Sunfish Lee, the theory of Acupuncture with Dr. Hsu, Tui Na with Dr. Huang, and Gynecology with Dr. Chen (head of the TCM department). In clinic, I thrived when treating trauma, women’s health, neuromuscular conditions, & cosmetic patients. I quickly learned that I am a practitioner who likes to go past the surface level concerns and get to deep rooted issues.
I am a hands-on practitioner with an interest in maintaining this approach, so I advanced my training in the Chinese style massage called Tui Na and completed a 5 day (60hr) intensive course in Vancouver in September 2017.
By October 2017 I became a published wellness writer with my first article being published in the Medicinal Roots Magazine on “Insomnia”. I then was approached to contribute a chapter in a co-author book published in September of 2018, entitled “On Her Plate”, presented by the women wellness warriors. Additionally a third opportunity to write on the topic of wellness came my way in September of 2020, where I contributed a chapter to another co-author project, entitled “Being Mama”.
Prior to my acupuncture studies I completed my undergraduate studies at Thompson Rivers University. Here I acquired an Associate’s degree in a variety of studies that included, health sciences, nutrition, sociology, and psychology. My intention was to pursue studies that would further help me to connect with my patients through support and understanding.
By October 2021 I completed my studies in Cosmetic Acupuncture and Facial Rejuvenation. I opted to take the Cosmetic acupuncture course offered by both Dr. Rebecca Stephens and Michelle Gellis. To aid in delivering quality Cosmetic treatments I then acquired my certification for Micro/Nano-needling. This was important to me so that I can address multiple Cosmetic concerns at one time. I find that these treatments assist patients who are looking to age gracefully, while bringing out their own unique and innate radiance.
In my spare time I’m fully immersed in being mom to my daughter, Parker, and our 115lb wondermutt fur-baby named “Mollie”. We enjoy being in the mountains or at the lake, where we can explore and play in nature.
